The Flavor Room Story

Why The Flavor Room Exists

This isn't another networking group. It's a response to years of exclusion, performative community, and rooms that asked powerful people to shrink. We built an ecosystem designed to multiply results, wealth, and influence.

The story is personal before it is strategic

The Flavor Room wasn't imagined from a trend forecast. It was built from what Sutton and Lace repeatedly experienced in entrepreneurial spaces that marketed support but practiced exclusion.

Sutton C. McCraney, MA, MBA

The early concept for The Flavor Room was brewing in my mind for three years as I navigated the online business space. As an outspoken, Black, Muslim woman, I often found myself out of place in most entrepreneurial rooms - overlooked, underestimated, or tokenized.

For years, I watched brilliant entrepreneurs of color be overlooked, underfunded, and underestimated, not because they lacked vision or capability, but because they didn't fit the mold.

What I witnessed was an industry full of people preaching "community", yet operating from ego and exclusion. Spaces that claimed to be supportive were really about hierarchy, hype, and hidden agendas.

I desired something deeper: a space with standards founded in authenticity, belonging, and leadership that wasn't fake.

So, I decided to build what I couldn't find.

I spent years as a Tech Concierge of color, working behind the scenes for privileged coaches who posted about love and light on social media, then treated me like "the help" behind closed doors.

When I asked for fair rates, I was told it was unclear if I was bringing anything more to the table. The racial bias was real. The gaslighting was real. The exhaustion from accepting less was real.

The Flavor Room is where she ensures no one else has to shrink themselves to fit. And I knew I wasn't alone.

The Turning Point

The moment the vision proved itself

On August 7, 2025, Sutton reached out to Lace with the idea she'd been marinating for years. The response was immediate because the need was already there.

Founding member spots sold out in 24 hours using only a Google Form and Stripe link.

That validation made the direction clear: build a room where leaders set the standard instead of negotiating for it.

Timeline

  1. AUG 7, 2025

    The idea became a call

Sutton reached out to Lace with an idea marinating for three years: not another networking group, but a room designed to move money, open doors, and elevate overlooked leaders.

  2. 24 HOURS

    Demand validated the mission

The founding member spots sold out with a Google Form and Stripe link. The signal was immediate: people were waiting for a room built on standards, not performance.

  3. NOW

    An ecosystem, not an event

The Flavor Room exists to multiply results, wealth, and influence for diverse entrepreneurs and their partners, with belonging and accountability built into the design.

Mission

Together, we're building something different

The Flavor Room is an ecosystem that multiplies results, wealth, and influence for diverse entrepreneurs and their partners. The room is designed for belonging, accountability, and expansion.

  1. 01

    Belonging with standards

We reject tokenized community. Support here is paired with depth, integrity, and leadership.

  2. 02

    Movement over networking

The goal is not proximity for optics. The goal is outcomes, access, and ownership.

  3. 03

    Built from truth

This room was designed from lived experience inside broken systems, not abstract positioning.

  4. 04

    Mutual elevation

We create structures that help members expand revenue, influence, and reach together.
